King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King [1969] {{Stoner Collection #11}}

===-Stoner Music Collection Entry Number 011-===

Hello my people.
I wonder if that's how Jesus called to his followers? In that case I should just change it to Hi!
I don't want to be resembling jesus, not today.
Not ever.

So whatever happened to that Stoner Music Collection you were posting HitMeWithIt you lazy no good sonovvabitch?!
"erm...duh...uh-oh.."
So where the fuck is the next friggin' instalment then arsehole?
"Well I, erm...it's here, I just need to ..."
Hurry it up shithead!

And here it is

This King Crimson album is a real classic. It means a lot to me due to it being around during the time I was experimenting with drugs, to a point that is - I never wanted to try chemical drugs, avoided coke and heroin and would never even consider things like crack...but I liked the so called 'natural' highs from various plants or mushrooms. I remember hearing this alvbum for the first time shortly after taking some Liberty Cap mushrooms when I was about 17.
It is even now, still difficult for me to put into words exactly what went on!!
After all these years I still struggle to convey the things and feelins I had that night and that this very album brought to my mind!
It takes you on a journey....it's an incredibly exciting and unpredictable journey but...you get there in the end and you are all the more mature and better for having travelled!
There, and that is my so called review.

Oh and tiny update: I have been VERY ill recently, much worse than the usual moans I make...so the site has been far from my mind as I deal with increased pain and weaning off steroids. that is the hard thing.
I'll try to bring the site more to life again when I feel my strength returning but, for now, it's whenever I can!
Thanks for supporting me by still dropping by whoever you are :)

Frank Zappa & The Mothers of Invention - Freak Out! [1966] GUEST BLOGGER TODAY! {{Stoner Collection #02}}

===-Stoner Music Collection Entry Number 002-===

Hello again my friends...
first off I just have to point out that, nope, I hadn't neglected to notice something that is really crap around here (and I don't mean my 'reviews') and that is these extra large sized Capital Letters starting each new post.
It looks crap. It doesn't quite fit into the stream of writing at all and I want to get rid of it but I'm not sure what way to go with it...
anyway, that's all very interesting right?

Ladies and Gentlemen!
Let me introduce, today's exclusive Guest Blogger for the day...

My 9 year old son, James!

I must add that the photograph has been subjected to a few random and funny filters so he doesn't always (or ever!) look like that!

As James is not so well versed in writing on blogs or indeed doing much writing at all if he can help it, I told him to sit down and I put on this album. I gave him some guidelines of what people might want to know about the album and left him to write some stuff.
If we get more than two lines then we are doing good!

Why didn't I do it?
Well a couple of reasons...I always planned to see if James would do this for me as I think it would be interesting so that's the first reason, the second is that I am not and never really have been a Zappa Aficionado.
I don't know why ... I just don't really get his music. I know, you're not supposed to get it right?
Well I don't.
Although I love the album that goes on about religion and has the track 'Heavenly Bank Account' on it. That's because it appeals to my beliefs though and it's hilariously funny!

I now hand you over to today's Guest Blogger...

Hello my name is James and I am nine. My Dad asked me to do a review of this album.
I will just type the stuff I wrote on a piece of paper when I was listening to this album now cos my dad gave me a list of some things I should try to explain when I hear it and what it makes my mind feel like and what I imagine when I close my eyes to it.
I quite like the song: Who Are The Brain Police cos it sounds like Gong and I really like Gong.
The song at track number 4 is like an old fashioned love song and I don't like it.
I don't really like most of the songs but Who Are The Brain Police is my fave song.
My mind says "I hate this album" (and so do my eyes when I close them!)
Don't buy this album it is RUBBISH!
From James.

Pink floyd - Azimuth Coordinator 3 Parts (6 Discs) & the Tale of The Dog Bite ...

Hello and good evening.
I got bitten by a dog about two weeks ago now.
It was pretty terrifying. Just walking across the road with my 9yr old kid and felt this collie sink its teeth into my left leg on the thigh. Pain ensued as I tried to free my leg and the dog was growling like it had rabies or something.
I spent the next three or four minutes wrestling and trying to get the bast'd thing off my leg and it wasn't trying to make it an easy game...
Eventually I pulled my leg toward my body whilst pushing the dogs neck/head away and telling the young girl holding the lead to 'PULL NOW' just at that same time, and it was free.
The result was a bit of a chunk out of my leg.

I have censored the pic below but, feel free to click on it to open in a new window, the wound, uncut. Hehe.
If you are eating, don't bother.
You don't need to see this.
No one does.

The music today is a rare treat. Ok I know, it is in MP3 and not FLAC but this is great to have for the personal MP3 player so grab it.
Pink floyd - The Azimuth Coordinator Discs.
1975 - 1980

Or in slightly more detail, three shows released as a 3 disc set:
WISH YOU WERE HERE - Vancouver, B.C, April 8th 1975.
ANIMALS - Montreal, Quebec, July 6th, 1977.
THE WALL - Los Angeles, USA, February 7th, 1980.

As the titles suggest, each show plays the tracks from those albums they are named after.
Click the image below to see it enlarged, showing the track lists.

Techy Speccys
Genre : Psychedelic Rock
Supplier/Ripper : HitMeWithIt
Date Posted : 21/10/2009
Format : LAME 3.98
Bitrate : VBR 256K/s~320K/s
KHz : 44100Hz
Channels : Joint Stereo
ID3 Tag : ID3v2.3

The more musically addicted of you - or those who do not know the magic of the portable MP3 player, may be asking WHY 128K? Why no FLAC?
Leave a comment here and tell me about it. I have the FLAC too.

I just like to share a scene released version of stuff sometimes as they do a great job on a rip
and to be honest, in the ipod this sounds great.

UPDATE! - I re-ripped the FLAC files to a higher bitrate MP3. those scene release MP3s were just too low. I think they sound OK but 128K? Naa.
So now I bring you the COMPLETE set of 6 discs, ripped to HQ VBR 256-320K MP3.

I'll leave the review to the one I read myself. I'm shite at describing music sometimes and tonight is one of those times.
It's Pink Floyd, it's great friggin' music, the quality is nice for a bootleg.
***

On the Animals show:
This was the last show of the 'In The Flesh' Tour where Roger gets upset a couple of times.
At 'Pigs On The Wing' a fire cracker goes off (and not for the first time) which makes Roger so angry that he stops playing and tries to put an end to it by speaking the famous words: 'Oh for fuck sake [...] I'm trying to sing a song'.

Later on in the show, Roger allegedly spat a fan in the face ("Who was told not to spit on the fans" :-).)

David Gilmour apparently wasn't too pleased with this performance but he surely was wrong.

The show was awesome. One (if not THE) best versions of Pigs.
Steaming and powerful.
Roger can clearly be heard shouting the numbers (90 and 61)
Not just for the events that took place, but also from a musical point of view, this show is highly recommended.
***
On the Wish You Were Here show:
The crowd certainly was in an evil mood that night, you can tell
by listening to this record. Nevertheless, it makes for a showcase
of Floyd at the height of its power (save some of the vocals, as usual).
There is some remarkable, moody intensity saturating the event.
Much has been said about the show, climaxing with the final,
feverish rendition of Shine On You Crazy Diamond parts 6-9.
I would only like to mention David Gilmour, who for me reaches his
crowning event in the midst of the maelstrom of this concert.
Just listen for yourselves.
The pre-Comfortably Numb Gilmour's finest hour. -ANON

I dropped the password too and am even considering using 7-zip or some other open source compression instead of this cracked Winrar all the time...it's boring, always updating..

DO YOU USE FIREFOX?
If so then go and install Greasemonkey add-on which then enables you to do some great tricks for downloading files like these..
Now install the script for greasemonkey, called Rapidshare Links Checker. The task of this fine software and script is to make all megaupload and rapidshare links automatically LIVE and CLICKABLE, like the ones on this page for instance, no need to ever copy and paste a link again. Plus it tells you if the link is dead or not on the filehost too. Without leaving the page.
Try it...rapidshare links checker

Remember ... if you want the FLAC of this, let me know in the comments ;)

NEW! GONG - 8th Sept 1975 -Marquee Club,London **UPGRADE** (Cleaned and fixed) FLAC

Before we launch into Bob Marley Bliss here is a choice nugget for any hippies out there that are still clinging onto the (laughable) ideal that was..er..well just a cloud of smoke really when you think about it. That is assuming you can still think and are not a vegetable due to too many mushies ...man.
This is a great line-up of the ever mutating and evolving band known as Gong. I always loved it when the worlds BEST guitarist was playing with them, he is for me, the gong sound.
I am talking of Steve Hillage of course.
Beats that twat Hendrix hands down! Hehe.
What you are getting here is an old post but with new links of a cleaned up, better version of this show. It was never great quality anyway but some very nice people have taken the time and effort to improve it considerably so I bring this new improved version to you now.

Woohoooo! Not long until I go see them play in November!
If I could tape it I would.
I have no means or knowledge so I can't!

Track List
1) Intro (1:34)
2) Aftaglid (15:28)
3) Tuning (1:39)
4) Oily Way > 6/8 (8:12)
5) Tuning (1:21)
6) Solar Musick Suite (20:25)
7) Bambooji (9:45)
8) The Isle Of Everywhere (10:27)
9) Get It Inner (3:25)

1) Tuning (1:21)
2) Wingful Of Eyes (7:19)
3) The Salmon Song (10:11)

Hehe.
Enjoy this.
Some parts are of dubious quality but overall it is a rare and enjoyable glimpse into an old live show from 'Planet Gong'.
UPDATE: This is definitely BETTER than the link that used to be posted here as this upgrade really sounds improved but, still, there are poor quality parts.

FLAC Files.
The show is in 5 rar file parts.
They are all uploaded to Rapidshare and Megaupload.
Total size = 477MB
All Links are in the following...oh and links are interchangeable.

GONG - 1995 - 25th Birthday Party (Exclusive!)

Hello hello hello.
It's been a while I know. A hospital appointment here and there and then a trip to the theatre (which was the first time in my life!) to see Carmen the Opera which was a mind blowing experience indeed.
I thought I might be nodding off but after about a minute or so of being there I was loving it.
I'm now planning to see many operas. You may, like me, think opera...naaaa. but you must give it a chance!!!

The whole theatre experience just washed over me and I really got into it.
Anyway today I bring you yet another GONG piece of work but this one is pretty special and was sent to me by a kind guy on another site.

Daevid Allen (Gong) - Eat Me Baby I'm A Jelly Bean [1998]

Hello again if there's anyone still listening to this rather sporadic blog.
I can only inform you of just how ill I am and have been, again lately. This is the reason for my absence and only now I think it may be getting better but, the nature of it is that it's unpredictable and also annoyingly inconsistent. what makes me feel better today may make my symptoms worse tomorrow. It gets difficult to know what to do after a while.

I'm sure I must have mentioned it but..hehe just let me indulge that again and tell you that as I AM GOING TO A GONG CONCERT in November, I have been listening to them and getting to know all the stuff I used to listen to in my hippie days...I came across this brilliant work by Daevid Allen, playing with a band he has put together and the music is unlike any Gong you will hear.
I used to say 'I hate jazz' and I did. With a passion you could say.
I think it was many nights of late TV watching here in the UK. For some strange reason they used to put these incessant jazz shows on that would last for hours. Just free-form jazz playing. The music seemed to me to go nowhere. I like music to have some kind of anchor. Structure. I don't appreciate it if it is so far gone that it just keeps changing and morphing and evolving without bringing you back to something you can anchor on to. I don't know if I'm making that clear. I know what I mean!
Well Gong have been one band that have brought me dangerously close to jazz in the past. In fact listening to them and Steve Hillage I have had to accept that there are definitely some forms of Jazz I really like.
I think as long as it has structure then I love it. The chords that are played are amazing. It really has a lot going for it but, has to have structure.
Free-form jazz?
Stick it.

So. This is Daevid Allen playing Jazz.
Cool lyrics, quirky music. What can go wrong?
What a feckin' brilliant record this is! I've now listened to it about 15 times in a couple of days which is unusual for me, unless it is Hendrix.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
Really.
It would be good to imagine you might take the time to leave a comment on what you think of it, but alas...I know you are far too busy eh.

Gong - Live on TV (1990)

Hey! I found this on some torrent site and I realised I have never actually seen Gong perform until this.

Maybe you are the same well ... I'm not sure that the sight of this guy swaying around with a white face and strange hat will do much to assist you in becoming a fan.
Still, the performance is great. They know music and they know how to perform it. I'm not sure about the white face.
A bit unsettling at times hehe.

If the following video looks a bit like it has the wrong aspect ratio..the faces are long or wide, then there is a button on the player to 'switch to 4:3' it looks better that way I think.

One more thing...in case the video player doesn't load, as sometimes happens with different browsers etc, click this link to open the video if it fails.

I suppose I could upload the original AVI file that I found too...

[1972] Pink Floyd - From The Other Side {{Bootleg 3 ultra rare DSOTM tracks from Abbey Rd}}

Pink who?
Yeah. It does seem a bit of a long time since I was posting so much good bootlegs on here.
Oh well. this one is quite interesting.

Let me just copy the info I got with it to save you from my erratic nonsensical ramblings.

COPY & PASTE *on*

Pink Floyd
1972-06-xx
From The Other Side
Abbey Road Studios
London, England

Lineage: Golden Memories boot originals > wav > eac > shn > HQ VBR MP3 Full Stereo @ 44,000kHz
Quality: EX

Tracklist:
01. Time (6:06)
02. Brain Damage (3:24)
03. Us And Them (5:26)

Notes:
This RARE release is possibly from June 2 or June 3 sessions, done on a 16 track
recorder.
From the back cover:

3 ULTRA RARE ALTERNATIVE VERSIONS OF ...

TIME - no solo lead guitar after "starting gun" ... no Breate [sic] Reprise.
BRAIN DAMAGE - no laughing on fade up ... "lunatic is in my head" fade up is different from what precedes on record (which is chorus instead of instrumental section) ... "if cloud burst..." has lead guitar not on record ... no voice speech in next section, but lead guitar instead... lead guitar on end after "dark side of the moon".
US AND THEM - Sax solo at the beginning has different ending ... no echo on voice ... sax continues under voice into second verse ... into "forward he cried" ... and next verse, "black and blue" (record starts at "who's who" and goes to "up and down")... sax continues into "up and down" verse and into "haven't you heard" with no voice over.
On record the sax is the same take but just mixed in and out.

GOLDEN MEMORIES
SAIE 89031
ITALY 1989

COPY & PASTE *off*

Oh yeah and if you can make sense out of that then you're a better man than I.
Heh. I am guessing it wasn't written by someone with English as their first language.
no matter. It is in the listening that you get the point, not the reading.
Are you much of a Floyd fan?
Can you immediately spot these differences?
I hope so!
Anyway enjoy and look forward to more soon.

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time

{ VIDEO ! } Steve Hillage - University Of Kent [Canterbury 1979] XviD

Hey fans. How goes your life.
Mine is trundling along as usual but nothing around here is 'as usual' at the moment.
I decided to put myself on an 'exclusion diet' about 8 days ago. this was my attempt to gain control of my illness and try to make myself get better too. Well, I have definitely been feeling better today!
It is a long LONG time since I was able to say or write that sentence and it feels good :)
There's a long way to go yet but for now, the diet is helping.
And on with todays offering...

Steve Hillage!
The man who can almost bring a tear to my eye when he lets his soul out and spreads hiw unique form of mastery over the guitar!
the man who is NOT included in 'Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Guitarists' list.
Tossers obviously don't know much about much! I mean - Kurt Cobain is in the friggin' list!?
Hillage is overlooked and underrated and I'm not really sure why.
It could be his look.
(hehe)
It could be his long-term affiliation to all things 'drug' and 'new-age'. And that's new age in the 'leylines, pixies and standing stones and energy from pyramids' sense of the word, not meditation CD specials that you pick up from a bargain bin.
There must be some reason he isn't more well known or talked about, even in circles such as the 100 greatest guitarists of all time list by Rolling Stone magazine. Funny that.
Well I hereby award STEVE HILLAGE the MP3@3pm award for the second best guitarist ever.
I am sure he will be delighted when he finds out.
(I won't tell him as he may get pissed about me posting his stuff)
Well folks on with the show...
I know a few of you liked what you heard with the previous hillage posting, coincidentaly, the audio version of this very show!
It may not then surprise you to learn that this is the video of said show and it's even better to see what you are hearing, if you know what I mean.
The tracklist is slightly different for this..do not ask me why or how but it seems to be..

As usual recently I have only uploaded to one filehost: Megaupload.com.
Now, if you cannot download from there for some reason then do these two things please: Leave a comment and tell me what the problem is with megaupload that stops you having your downloads. (Is it telling you your country hasd no slots allocated to it or is it telling you to buy a premium account or.. something else?)
Let me know ok!

Some file details and then the links.
I really really want you all to enjoy this as much as I have and I assure you the quality is as good as the DVD I ripped it from, which was a custom-made DVD taken from a Japanese TV broadcast of what was first Filmed and broadcast by the BBC with a show called "Rock Goes to College". I couldn't find the BBC version but I hear it has a time code running across the screen. Well, in a couple of speech parts(very few!) there is Japanese subtitling at the bottom.
It makes no difference believe me though, of course it is always nice to get a pure 'clean' copy.

Live: 13th Floor Elevators ~1968~

Hello.
I don't really have to explain myself this time. If you haven't heard of this band then you need to download it and get yourself an education in musical history.

Hehe.
Or maybe I am just too damn tired to go into it.
Some review that was eh?
Please do enjoy this though, I think its farkin' brilliant.
Prepare yourself for a bad quality sounding, at times just plain horrible assault on the ears, mindless and sanity-defying album!
Hehe. Hope that has helped you.

[Harvested] PINK FLOYD BBC Archives 1970-1971 ((FLAC LOSSLESS)) Paris Cinema upgraded version

Hello again, just dropping these off...before anyone asks me if I have been messing around with the original SHN files etc I will just tell you what I did now:
There are two discs here...as you know if you go read the precious blog post! One is in SHN or shorten format and the other in FLAC.
Well I seem to have so much bloody irritation whenever I need to deal with shorten files that I always try to get rid of them ASAP. I know, it is easy to convert them and decode them/uncompress them back to WAV files but it is still far too complicated for people with no idea what a command line is and it just gets silly if all people want is to listen to the music.
Luckily so many players nowadays(and I mean PC software players) will have no problem playing back FLAC files. So it has to be done really.
I took the SHN files, decoded them back to WAV files and then LOSSLESSLY compressed them up to FLAC to match the other disc.
So what you are getting here is the two discs talked of previously in the MP3 post, but they are all in FLAC.

I suppose I can give you the tracklist here eh...? :)

[Harvested] PINK FLOYD BBC Archives 1970-1971 ((MP3 320K/bps)) Paris Cinema upgraded version

This, my friends, is THE DEFINITIVE version of this utterly jaw-droppingly perfect album. I feel honoured to be able to say that I think this is one of the best albums I have ever posted on here!
Released by the not so well known - but very well known if you are 'in the know'..hehe - group of fans who go by the name of HRV or Harvested Records which, as they themselves state on their site, is a myth as they never have been or were an actual record company. Just a group of fans who know their shit, which makes GREAT news for us!

I present you today with the highest quality MP3 version I could make from the original FLAC and SHORTEN files. The next post on the site will be of the FLAC files, for those who want a better experience. They are very much larger and also not compatible with most personal mediaplayers so, if you want easy compatibility for your ipod or mp3 player, then todays MP3 links are what you want.

I wrote quite a bit in the NFO files for this so allow me to paste a bit here, just to give some info for you...

One of their releases is given the code HRV CDR007 and it is a double CD set
comprising of a great couple of shows that the Floyd done in 1970 and 1971 at
the Paris theatre, London.
It seems various sources were used to compose the final released album by HRV
and they did a blinding job.
Go forward a few years and we find this:
Released by the same guys is another new one with the code HRV CDR007B Rev A
Now, this is basically a massively upgraded (in terms of sound quality) release
of the second disc in the set above that I just described.
I listen to it and I really have to agree. It sounds beautiful.;

So, even though a lot of folk reading this now will not have even collected or
heard the original HRV set of two discs (HRV CDR007) I feel it is now pointless
to be trading the older, less good set with the second disc in it that just isn't
anywhere near as good as this revised upgraded one.

It is with that in mind that I decided to bring you the original HRV CDR007 first
Disc
and with that, the revised Second disc .
So you can sit back and listen to
the BBC Archives 1970-1971 set in the way intended by these guys.

Panic! This is Pretty Odd.

PANIC! AT THE DISCO - PRETTY ODD.
Hello again
I was planning on giving a good run down of this album as I sat taking notes yesterday over each track...I really really do rate this one, I think it is brilliant. I remember getting their last album and, although I liked it, this one is a different flavour. So many influences can be hard in it...some beautiful, rockin', pop, and so many other styles hidden in amongst there.
Anyway people yet again my health situation is overtaking what I would like to do and leaving me with what I am able to do...two very different things.
so I just bring you the album, tell you its great...believe it!
and you can download it.

Devendra Banhart - Smokey Rolls Down Thunder Canyon [2007]

Hello folks.
I discovered this artist sometime recently...well when I say recently I am talking of during the time I have been doing this blog because I posted it on here when I first heard his last album and I thought it was great.
I really am pretty excited about this one he has put together as it's fucking brilliant.
Relaxing.
Uplifting.
Trippy.
All words that can be used to describe the tracks and overall effect of this album.
As for genre, that is quite a difficult one.
I just can't pigeon hole this album into a genre as each track is so different to the last yet somehow, it all goes together beautifully.
I really am impressed people!
Yes I did say that. Unusual for me I know but there you have it.
Is it folk? Hmm. I say not but I have read reviews that class it as folk music.
Easy listening? Maybe.
There are slants of every bloody style thrown in there and the result is a well crafted, almost immaculate work of art.
Am I 'bigging it up' too much?
Hehe.
I think Banhart has sat down with a few records from each decade since the thirties and taken a sample or riff from each one, layered and mashed it all together and then made it unique and his own.
The weird thing is, a track will come on and, if I was to hear it on its own say, on the radio or elsewhere out of the context of this fine album I wouldn't hesitate in stating just how much I don't like that kind of music. Yet here he has put together such a rich friggin tapestry that every single track, as surprisingly outlandish as it may be to the one heard previously, reaches your ears gently and subtly. Every track works as a part of the album and in the context of the album as a complete work.
The album carries every track, is what I am trying to get across here.
Even the tracks that I would normally class as a bit, uh, cheesy...they come across in an almost ironic and fun way.
It works.
Just listen to it and tell me I'm wrong then I'll shut up.
No I won't but you can try if you like.
Would be nice to get some opinions on this.
It works for me!
This is what I'd call 'music that is unexpectedly likable'!
Not only 'likable: fucking great more like!
Ciao.

Ocean Colour Scene -- The Collection [2007]

Hello friends, countrymen...and others.
Ocean colour scene.
I used to call them 'Oasis with talent' and that description seems fitting even now!
Imagine if you took The Kinks, Oasis, some of the later Beatles tracks, a little sprinkling of various seventies Progressive rock, maybe a smattering of Pink Floyd and some Steelydan. What the hell would that concoction make?
I'm not too sure but it would bring you a whole lot closer to the sound of the inimitable, Ocean Colour Scene.
This is a 'collection / compilation of their best' album and is great.
Pretty good tracklist with all the tracks that made them so well known...
1. Sway
2. Giving It All Away
3. Do Yourself A Favour
4. Riverboat Song
5. You've Got It Bad
6. Day We Caught The Train
7. Circle
8. Day Tripper
9. Hundred Mile High City
10. Chicken Bones And Stones
11. Traveller's Tune
12. Soul Driver
13. Best Bet On Chinaski
14. Best Friends And Lovers
15. Foxy's Folk Faced
16. I Wanna Stay Alive With You
17. Robin Hood
18. Jane She Got Excavated

David Gilmour - "A Great Day for Losing It", Paris, 23,01, 2002 [Bootleg Video Rip]

The Latest Dylan Theme Time Radio show is uploading now. Thought I'd throw this one your way whilst I was waiting around. It's bloody early morning and I need something to do :)
What can I really tell you about this.
At this time in the morning not much...heh.(its now 8am...I started writing this almost 2 hrs ago! True!)

I can tell you what tracks he plays.

1. Shine On You Crazy Diamond (1-5)
2. Fat Old Sun
3. Coming Back To Life
4. Dominoes
5. High Hopes
6. Je Croix Entendre Encore
7. Smile
8. Breakthrough
9. Wish You Were Here
10. Comfortably Numb
11. The Dimming Of The Day
12. Shine On You Crazy Diamond (6-9)
13. A Great Day For Freedom
14. Hushabye Mountain

It's brilliant.
You have a very close view on David as he plays and sings in what seems to be quite a small venue. You can't actually see much else, the cameraman is in the front row and the camera is on Gilmour more or less the whole time. Sound and video is amazingly good. This is one of the best video bootlegs I have seen and is pretty unique in that it gives you that 'almost there' feeling.
Very very recommended!
I got this as DVD so encoded it to XviD using Fair Use Wizard on mostly default settings..it isn't packed bitstream or anything (Meaning it will play on your DivX DVD player if you have one!)

The Album! David Gilmour - Live at the Royal Albert Hall [AUDIO RIP] From BBC Sept 8th.

Back again just to drop this album off for you.
I am sure you liked the David Gilmour show from the BBC at the Royal Albert Hall so some kind soul ripped the audio from that broadcast, all digital like, crystal clear, high bitrate encoded and...well...they did a great job.
It means you can now enjoy the concert wherever you are instead of only whilst sitting in front of the box.
Great.

Whilst I am mentioning 'the box', can I just ask...am I alone here in my opinion that TV is just a heap of intolerable shit these days??
Obviously I liked the show I watched on BBC but there is very little EVER on that thing to keep me interested. Personally, I find the net a whole lot more entertaining. I don't just go against the TV like a lot of people are these days saying things like 'you don't get to choose the content' and all that crap, I just think that TV in general, the stupidity of most of the programmes, the weak drama or crime shows, the piles and piles of absolute shallow crud that flows over from USA like some kind of leaking sewer outlet. (Don't get arsey now Americans, I understand you probably have the same kind of shit coming to you from the BBC's deepest depths of shite archives. Believe it or not: Most Britains do not like most British sitcoms.
They suck.
A lot.
One thing I did get into recently, well, quite recently was a couple of US shows...three to be exact.
It all started when I was persuaded to watch '24'. I watched it and, much to my amazement, I liked it. Then began an obsession of waiting, downloading, watching. Every week I would have the show within an hour or so of it's release by EZTV trackers.
Then I heard about LOST. Decided to give it a go as it seemed everyone and his dog watched it.
Damn! I liked that show too. (This was amazing because I have never really liked the typical American drama series...they just edit and film in a way that doesn't appeal to me).
So now I was getting two shows a week...bit torrent, download, watch then wait a week...obsession.
Then I checked out 'Prison Break'...more due to the fact that '24' was finished and I was desperate so I heard that a lot of people were watching that as some kind of substitute!
I kind of liked it so then I started putting that show on the list too.
To get to the end of this ramble....
Finally the new season of Prison Break began last week and I watched the first show.
WHAT A LOAD OF CHILDISH NONSENSE!
This show is a fucking joke. Seriously, if you look at say, episode 101 and then fast forward to now, episode 301 you can see how they have changed a far-fetched, yet in some ways plausible series into what now amounts to no more than a comic book acted out by real people. I was more amused than horrified.
Either way I can't stand the fucking show now.
The thing is, last time I saw '24' I thought they had turned that into a kind of Marvel comic book stlye too.
What the fuck do they think the viewers want?
Or maybe I should be asking..
what do the viewers want?
they seem to lap it up so it is them that has the problem, not the creators.
Just look around the net and you find more glowing and positive 'reviews' of the latest Prison Break than people actually seeing it for what it is:
SHITE.
I hope the creators of LOST haven't 'lost' the plot too.
Now, where was I.

I N F O R M A T I O N

The BBC broadcast of a cut-down a 60 minute version of David Gilmour's
forthcoming DVD 'Remember That Night'.
It was broadcast on BBC1 in the UK on Saturday 8th September at 11pm.

The concert was recorded last year at London's Royal Albert Hall on
May 29, 30 and 31, 2006.
Gilmour is joined on stage by Pink Floyd keyboardist Richard Wright,
Pink Floyd's Dick Parry on sax, Phil Manzanera from Roxy Music,
Pink Floyd contributors Guy Pratt and Jon Carin, drummer Steve Distanislao
And Robert Wyatt.
Special guests are David Crosby and Graham Nash, as well as David Bowie.

In my humblest of opinions, this is some of the greatest David Gilmour
You have ever witnessed. Crosby & Nash are absolutely mind-blowing with their
Backup vocals and harmonies.
David Gilmours voice is in top form, the guitar playing, as usual, is so special.
This is one to go out and buy. The new DVD is released and available on
Amazon dot com or dot co dot uk!!
Pretty cheap too and you get LOADS of footage and extras...

...Two discs and 5 hours worth!

Ok so you get the general Idea now right?

The file is 500Mb and Rapidshare only allows 100Mb sized files so it is split into ... you guessed it-Six parts (the last part is about 10Mb).
